Frequently Asked Questions

What is Endowe?

Endowe allows you to create personalized gift registries featuring stocks, cryptocurrencies, and other securities.

Does an Endowe registry cost me anything?

No, creating an Endowe registry is completely free!

What types of registries do we offer?

We offer registries for children and adults.

What if I don't know what stocks to add to my registry?

No worries—we’ve got you covered. We are currently working on a partnership with a wealth advisory firm that will offer curated stock packs tailored to your investment goals and risk tolerance, making it easy for you to start receiving the gift of growth.

Do I need a separate Endowe account for each of my children?

No, you can create a single Endowe account to manage investments for multiple children. Within your account, you can create multiple registries for each child, which will be linked to their unique investment accounts—keeping their gifts and investments organized.

How does Endowe work with 529 college savings plans?

If you have a 529 plan with a uGift link, you can link that 529 plan to your Endowe registry so that family and friends can contribute directly. While we do not currently offer the ability to create a new 529 plan through Endowe, we are actively listening to our users and will add this feature in the future.

Where are my stocks, crypto, and other securities kept?

All gifts made to your registry are invested in your brokerage account. We are in the process of finalizing a partnership with a brokerage firm where all your securites will be housed. If you are an adult creating a registry for yourself, the investments are held in an investment account in your name. If you are creating a registry for a child, the investments are held in a custodial account called a Uniform Gifts to Minors Act (UGMA) account, which allows a minor to own securities under the management of a custodian until they reach the age of majority (typically 18 or 21, depending on the state). Once the child reaches this age, they gain full control over the assets.

What if I also want a gift registry with physical or tangible items?

Simply link your other registries to your Endowe registry and share your unique link with loved ones—they’ll be able to access all of your registries from one place.

What can I do with the investments?

Once you receive your gifted investments, they become a part of your personal portfolio. You can monitor their growth, reinvest dividends, or sell them when the time is right. If the registry is for a child, the investments remain in the custodial UGMA account until they reach the age of majority. Whether for yourself or a child, you have full control—manage the investments just like any other asset, or you can choose to work with our advisory partner to align your strategy with long-term financial goals.

How should I share this with my spouse or family members?

If you're making financial decisions as a family, you can easily share your Endowe registry link with your spouse or other family members so they can review and provide input. Additionally, Endowe provides educational resources to help families understand the benefits of investment gifting and long-term financial planning.
